i thank you God for most this amazing... (65)
e.e. cummings
poem

I remember when I first read this poem.. what a discovery!

i thank You God for most this amazing
day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday; this is the birth
day of life and love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any--lifted from the no
of all nothing--human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

Hey! Didn't we use this as the blessing one Thanksgiving? Thanks for sharing it again. I remember discussing it with you when I told you about waking up outside at Camp and seeing the trees and praying, "thank you God for giving me the eyes to see the trees." and about three hours later I thought, "oh, yeah, and thanks for the trees, too!" I remember to thank God for the trees every day here. And I think of you and that poem which I never remember in its entirety but in its gist. But here it is again. Thanks, Katie!

oh, i'd forgotten that! and of course, you remembered. Ah. i almost feel like trees know that you love them.I'm glad that you are there to love those trees on Beautiful Breton Bay.
